Red Dead franchise owner claims that PC has become a very important platform for him

Take-Two Interactive CEO, a parent company of renowned companies such as Rockstar and 2K Games, has recently told something that PC gamers could especially appreciate. Namely, during the conference call for fiscal year 2017, CEO Strauss Zelnick responded to questions about new platforms, pointing out that personal computers became vital to his business over the past ten years, mostly because of the success of digital distribution.

“I would observe that the PC platform has become a very, very important part of what we do driven by digital distribution. And that was not the case for so called console titles 10 years ago. And it is the case now. Does that mean that the business is flattening out and everything become open and we don’t care what brand is on the box not the least, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of more generations. However, it does get us closer to a point where we truly can be platform agnostic as an industry. And I would say we are not there yet, but that day will come." says Zelnick.

Since the CEO of the company claims that the PC has become such an important platform for Take-Two Interactive, it is clear that many people are asking now whether one of the most anticipated games this year - Red Dead Redemption 2 - will be just a time-exclusive for console. Unfortunately, Strauss Zelnick did not directly confirm that RDR2 would get its own PC release, but his statement during the conference call suggests that something like this is completely possible.

Money.

Take 2 / Rockstar stagger their port releases so they can get all the impacient gamers who can't wait until it's released on PC...

They've been doing it since GTA IV, so they can sell multiple copies of their games.

You can argue "piracy concerns", but nah... It's all about the money.

But if they're cooking a multip(l)ayer component with shark card equivalents, you can bet the PC release will come out
as soon as rockstar can do it.

Cause ya know, dem billions of net profit?
