World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth player reaches level 120 in under 5 hours !

Some World of Warcraft players are in it for the social experience, others are more interested in the story, but only few can min-max their gameplay to reach the level cap the fastest.

The arrival of World of Warcraft’s new expansion, Battle for Azeroth, comes with an increase to the level cap. In this case, level 120 is now the maximum any player can reach.

Battle for Azeroth launched overnight in most regions, so there’s barely been any time to get a first impression, let alone reach the maximum level. But that’s exactly what Gingi, a member of Method‘s World of Warcraft team, managed to do.

With the help of two other teammates, it took the player around 4 hours and 17 minutes to reach 120. Icy Veins reports that the three players went for fast questing after optimising their route during the beta.

Here’s a video of the moment the player reached level 120:

Method is no stranger to these sorts of records. When World of Warcraft’s Legion expansion launched in 2016, Fragnance, another Method player, reached the 110 cap in 5 and a half hours.

Reaching the level cap doesn’t mean you’ve seen everything, of course, it only opens up the game’s vast end-game content. A full archive of Gingi’s stream can be found on their Twitch channel.

We recently spoke to Blizzard about its goals when making Battle for Azeroth, and how it was designed as the game’s last expansion.
