GTA 6 as good as confirmed

It looks like GTA 6 will get a singleplayer campaign even though GTA Online is still creating lots of money for Rockstar Games. Zelnick said, during a meeting with investors, that Rockstar Games is just going to continue with the creation of singleplayer games. What the CEO is indicating could be related to the next GTA, whether that one is going to call GTA VI or be presented under another name.

"The folks at Rockstar Games intended to create a powerful single-player experience a story driven experience. And Rockstar has always been known for great stories and great single-player experiences and then developed in addition, a massive multiplayer opportunity over the past years." - Strauss Zelnick

GTA VI already confirmed by multiple sources

Officially there is no new GTA (VI) announced by Rockstar Games, nor Take-Two Interactive, which is the mother company. However, there were already insiders who spoke with employees of Rockstar Games, and from those conversations, it was obvious that a GTA VI is actually in development. On top of that, there is the confirmation of Bibin Michael, an ex-employee of Rockstar who also worked on Red Dead Redemption 2, who added on his online CV that he did work on GTA VI content. In that CV he mentioned that he was working on concept art for cars that are identical to those from GTA 5 and GTA 6.

According to Zelnick, Rockstar Games doesn't even have to choose between creating a singleplayer or multiplayer game since they already proved to be able to deliver great work on both fronts. We could all witness that with their game GTA 5 and GTA Online.

"I think it's a reminder, not that we needed one, that Rockstar Games can do both of those things at the highest possible level of execution in our business," - Zelnick.

All in all, Zelnick is convinced that there is still a long life for singleplayer titles.

"There was, I think, there was an argument just a couple years ago, not around here, not in this shop, but in some of our competitors' offices, that single-player is dead, that it's all about multiplayer. We didn't believe that I said specifically and publicly that we didn't believe that, our labels don't believe that." - Zelnick
