Fallout Gets Update, Goodies, and TV Teaser for 25th Anniversary

  • 2

The original Fallout game was released in 1997, and across the past 25 years, the stories set in Fallout's expansive, dystopic universe have only grown. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the game, Bethesda has set up a week-long event and released a retrospective video celebrating the past and future of the Fallout IP.

Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 fans have had a week filled with in-game events and free goodies. Users who go through Prime Gaming or Xbox Game Pass can grab an additional anniversary pack for varying windows of time.

The biggest anniversary announcements are the Fallout 4 4K update and free copies of Fallout 3 handed out on EGS. The Fallout 4 update will include performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution gameplay, bug fixes, and bonus Creation Club content. Bethesda has not commented on whether or not the Creation Club content update will affect user mods. If 2021's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim updates are an indicator of how Fallout 4's update will be handled, users currently using mods should likely watch out for bugs or discontinued service.

A teaser image of Vault 33 members opening their Vault door in the new Amazon TV show, Fallout, was released to generate excitement for the anniversary and game. The show's head writers are most well known as the creators of the Westworld show reboot.

Many fans are disappointed about the lack of news regarding a new Fallout game, especially with recent news of Obsidian's CEO shooting their shot to make another Fallout title.

Here's an official graphic of all the items that users can get during the celebrations. You can read the official Fallout 25th Anniversary celebrations on the official Fallout site.

Thanks for the info. BTW, you have a typo. You have Fallout 75 instead of Fallout 76.

Updated accordingly, thanks for that catch, editor!

Acronyms, if used, should be defined with their first use in the article.  For example, Epic Game Store (EGS).  Otherwise the reader has to leave the site to go look them up.  Making the reader leave the site is not the goal.
