Sign up for the event when it opens on the 7th and play DBD steam quest to add to the community event total hours.

I recommend joining the even immediately before it starts.

During the last event, they said they listened to all the feedback and would take it into consideration for next time...

They cut the top end of the hours needed in half.  Yay!

Dead By Daylight is currently temporarily free to play for 5 days, and is on sale if you want to buy it.  Yay!

They still haven't put in a personal hours counter to make it easy to see if your hours are being counted towards the event or not.  Boo!  Hissss!  Boo!

DBD has never loaded properly for me, despite trying the black screen fixes, so the best I can do is run it and hope the black screen is actually doing something, but I don't think it is.  Looking at the achievements, I see my hours for "Steam: Play ____ hours" is higher than for "Steam: Play ___ Steam Quests", which I'm assuming is from the first two community quests (given the difference in hours).  It hasn't changed any this time around after several hours, so I don't think my time is being counted (and this likely means my hours for the last DBD event weren't being counted, which I figured anyway, otherwise the disparity in hours between the two achievements would be much higher).  I dunno, maybe the disparity has nothing to do with community quests, and my hours are being counted, but it would be nice to know and not have to guess.

If you own an android device I'd suggest to use Idle Daddy. Hour count stuck at 903 right now. At least it isn't retrograde like last time. surprise

Well, we hit another milestone and got 30 more ARP, but there's still 90 ARP up for grabs if we hit the 25,000 hour mark.  DBD is still free to play for 16 hours, and on sale (60% off) until the 16th.  Thanks to everyone who's contributed hours so far.  Hopefully we can keep the numbers up after DBD free play time ends and nab all the rewards.

If I start the event now, do I get the items that have already been released or just the ones that will be?

I'd say you just get the future items that haven't been earned yet is my guess.   Were making good progress looks like we may get all the clothes items this time.

Interstellar

they need to increase this event visibility. it's not on the sidebar, or quests, or drop down menu. some people don't even know about it

Martian

Well it said we were at 13,xxx  hours now were back down to 12,xxx hours, look like we lost about a thousand hours.  Just when I though we were trucking along.

I don't know how we're supposed to get to that page without a link. I can't find anywhere on the site that says anything about the event. I had no idea it was happening until I saw this post. It's not in news. It's not in blog. It's not in notifcations. It's silent ninja event that they're hiding, at least to me because it seems everyone else finds it well enough.

With only 12 hours of free play remaining, progress will probably drop back to a crawl after that.
