Can't Connect VIA USB C to Display Port on Monitor

  • 2

Alienware M15 R6 Windows 10 Home updated, Drivers Updated. 11th Gen i5-11400H. NVIDA GeForce RTX 3060, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD.

Any suggestions on why I can't extend or copy display from laptop to an HP Mini in one 24 monitor via cable, USB C from laptop to Display Port.

I can use this cable and get it to work fine with Lenovo 13s G2 ITL.

I tried cable HDMI from laptop to display port also and doesn't work either.

Any help wiht the issue would be greatly apprecated.

Thank you for your help and time.

have you tried to connect your laptop to your tv with and hdmi to hdmi cable for testing?

also i assume that you know the keyboard key combination for switching screens on windows 10, its windows key+p

good luck

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Sorry, I had to put the whole thing on hold and will try your suggestions down the road. I haven't even gamed on it yet.

Do you know where to buy some RAM to upgrade it. I only have 8GB. Would like at least 16GB.

Thanks for all your help

Double-check that machine supports DisplayPort over USB-C or Thunderbolt v3 on that particular USB-C port. Presence of a USB-C port regrettably does not guarantee the additional aforementioned features.
