How to equip artifacts?

Planetary

The guide page is more style than substance. I can't seem to click on any of my artifacts. How do I equip the ones I have? Where can I see my shards to upgrade them?

There are two types of Artifacts: Static and Chaotic.  You can only equip Chaotic Artifacts.  The Static Artifacts are the ones associated with achievements and, at present, are purely for show.  The Chaotic Artifacts are the ones that provide some additional benefit, like earning extra ARP or giving you a Marketplace/Game Vault discount.  It appears the only equippable Artifacts you currently own are the 1 ARP ones from the Marketplace.  Those cannot be upgraded - and, unfortunately, that means you can't see how many Fragments you have, because the only way to see your Fragments balance is by trying to upgrade an Artifact.  (That's something they will hopefully change in the future and may even be working on it behind the scenes.)

As for how to equip Artifacts (you appear to have one equipped, but for anyone else who may need help):

Go to Profile, then Artifacts Presentation Room.  Then click on the Artifact you want to equip.  You have to scroll down your list of Artifacts to find the ones you can equip.  (Again, not the best system and something they're hopefully working to fix, as it's not readily apparent which Artifacts are Chaotic and which are Static.  And it would be much easier if you could click on the slots at the top of the page and were then presented with a screen showing all your equippable Artifacts.)

Select the slot - Blue, Green, Red - you want to equip it in.  (At present, I don't believe which slot matters.)  This should bring up the Equip/Upgrade screen.  Equip is enabled by default, so you can just click Save.Changes and that should equip the Artifact.  (You should get a message in the corner saying something like "Your changes were successfully saved."  The Artifact should then appear in its slot, but sometimes you may need to refresh the page to see it.)

When you have an Artifact that can be upgraded, you'd want to click on it and then select "Upgrade" on the Equip/Upgrade screen.  That will show you how many Fragments you have available, and how much it will cost to upgrade the Artifact to the next level.

A note of warning: you can only equip a slot once per 24 hours.  So, don't shuffle your Artifacts around just because you want them in a certain order.  And don't select "Unequip" if you want to change Artifacts, as unequipping will render the slot unavailable for 24 hours.  If you want to change the Artifact in a slot, you want to select the Artifact you want to replace it with, select that slot from the Equip/Upgrade screen, and save the change, as that will automatically unequip the original Artifact.  I believe the "Unequip" option is mostly there because of an April Fool's joke Artifact that actually stole ARP and people who didn't own any other Artifacts couldn't remove it.  So, I think it's been left there just as a backup option, for people in that situation of not owning other Artifacts, or in case something gets stuck or broken.  But 99% of the time, you're going to want to swap Artifacts, not unequip.

Well because not all Artifacts could be equipped, so not sure which pic should I use to show how to equip them since maybe those Artifacts many people don't have so they can't use as reference, hence the reason why I added the Artifacts pic for people to know which Artifact they could click to spawn the Equip screen.

Otherwise people can't find similar pic and choose them to use.

In your case, the only Artifacts you could use are the ones in this pic right side.

Where you need to find them on the Artifact page and respective section (Weapon, Tech, Language) so I put them in () and the pic and Artifact name for people to search for them.

This was more helpful than the FAQ thank you

The easiest way to know how many fragments you have is to right click the page → view source and search the source code for fragment_balance. You can do this on any page as long as it's Alienware Arena and you're logged in.

For checking how many Fragments do you still have.

Useful in case you don't have any upgradable Artifacts (Since those you could see in Upgrade Tab), because that number won't show in other place unless you use that special method.

You can speed up this progress even a bit more by using CTRL+U (source) -> CTRL+F (search).
