I think they did it cause people got duplicate or used key from it. So maybe they are trying to get working keys for it instead of directly saying out of stock.

I also thought i got a duplicate when i tried activating it, but it was because the thumbnail had the wrong size, keys weren't in the right position and i actually copied the code of another key i got in rewards :') hence the duplicate..

Several people reported duplicate keys over the weekend. Because the developers weren't back in house yet to fix the problem, Cartire put further keys deliberately out of reach to prevent more duplicate keys being given away.
