If this is for Steam Quest progress, then I think that AWA constantly checking every member's playtime on Steam may annoy Valve. AWA probably has permission to perform their inquiry once per hour.

There's a limited number of API calls (100,000) you can make in a 24 hour period. The more active people, the longer the intervals have to be to stay within the limit.
