Why is there an Asian team challenging us in a Australia and New Zealand only competition?
Rule set says that you must be a resident of these 2 countries under clause number 2.
2. Eligibility. The Tournament is open only to residents of Australia and New Zealand that are fifteen (15) years of age or older as of January 4, 2012 and who are invited to the Tournament (each a "Player"). Each Player may be required to show proof of age and residence.
According to battlelog, and their forums, i'm pretty sure "KICK-ASS" are NOT an Australian or New Zealand based team.
