Sypher Showdown: Marking Three Years of Alienware & SypherPK

What is the Sypher Showdown?

SypherPK is on the hunt for the next best Fortnite player, and it all goes down live on LAN tomorrow at the Omni Theater in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas (DFW). Participants will test their skills in the ultimate solos showdown and battle for a shot to win $10,000 in prize money, a fully stacked Alienware Area-51 Gaming Desktop equipped with Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 CPU and NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5090 GPU, along with the title of ultimate solos champion.

PK’s Proving Ground, Powered by Alienware

We'll be running a custom Fortnite skills challenge in our booth, and it's open to everybody at the event. Alienware has been the hardware behind how Sypher plays and creates for more than three years now. This is the first year we get to bring that into his event, in front of his community, and the best way we could think to do it was simple: hand people the same gear SypherPK uses and see what they can do.

 

Here's how it works:

  • The pros set the line. Earlier in the day, SypherPK and other creators on site will run the PK’s Proving Ground challenge we built specifically for this event. Their scores go straight to the top of a live leaderboard in our booth, and they sit there all night. The goal is to knock them off.
  • Then it's your turn. Four stations, open to anybody in attendance, running from the time doors open until the final gauntlet starts. Step up, get your run in, get your name on the leaderboard.
  • The challenge itself. We're building this in direct partnership with SypherPK. It's a hybrid of shooting and movement, the two key mechanics that ultimately separate high-level Fortnite players from the rest.
  • The payoff. When the leaderboard locks at the end of the night, the top finishers walk away with their very own Alienware 15 gaming laptop. Whether you came to the SypherPK Showdown to compete or spectate, there's a real chance to leave with some serious Alienware hardware and swag.

  • Power: On the RTX 5050 and 5060 configurations in Performance Mode, you're getting up to 110W TPP.
  • Display: A 15.3-inch 16:10 panel at 1920x1200 running 165Hz. Taller aspect ratio and fast refresh rates are key to winning box fights.
  • Cooling: Our signature Cryo-tech solution runs two fans and three copper heat pipes through a single rear exhaust, with a Cryo-Chamber structure on the RTX 5050 and 5060 models to deliver sustained FPS performance so hour four feels like hour one.
  • Battle Tested. Up to 20,000 open-close hinge cycles, 40,000 keystrokes, two ounces of liquid spillage, and drops from 18 inches on every face and corner.
